Story of
Just Imagine by K

Hi I'd like to welcome you to my page and tell you a little about how I got here.
7 years ago, it was a dark time for all my family, my Mum was taken by lung cancer and the world stopped still. I didn't know what to do. I decided to make her proud, go to college, and be somebody. It wasn't until I started digitally drawing Mum and that I felt close to her again.
We have no good pictures of her with my family or my kids so I drew them together and now I want to help others see their loved ones the way they want to see them and in ways that are impossible now which is why I started this page, to do what I love and to help as many people as I can.
Here is a drawing of Mum with my daughter Oliwia who is now 10, my son Michal who is 8 and my 7 year old niece Kornelia, which shows you what is possible with my digital drawings.
Message me for prices and info and I will do my best to answer your questions and help you out :)

About me

Growing up in Poland I became completely absorbed by stories and the images around them. I once went to the library for a new book and was told that I had read every single storybook on the shelves! My favorite one was about a little girl called Martynka, written by Belgian author Gilbert Delahaye. I liked it the most not only because of the story itself but also because of the beautiful illustrations by Marcel Marlier who has been an inspiration for me to start drawing. After graduating from College in Poland I wanted to study art at University but I couldn’t afford it at that time.
I came to live in England in 2008 at the age of 21 and was encouraged by the very high mark I achieved in English (communication has been no problem for me). I have studied English since Primary School in Poland also. After becoming a single mother I had the opportunity to look into doing things that always interested me. I have decided to follow my heart and in September 2015 I started studying Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design at Blackburn College. I developed a strong interest in life drawing as well as in digital art. I have learned many new things such as printmaking, surface pattern, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and I am constantly improving those skills.

I have been awarded Creative Arts Student of the Year, nominated to Governors Award at stars Awards 2017 and I have been chosen to exhibit my work at Origins 2017 at UAL in London. I have also taken part in a Festival of Making in Blackburn in May 2017, it was a great opportunity to showcase my talents. I am a very motivated and driven person.

In September 2017 I progressed to the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. My interest in surface pattern extended my mark-making capabilities.

I became interested in urban Sketching, inspired by Marc Taro Holmes and Raphael Lacoste I have done a lot of traditional illustrations of architecture and landscapes for my project ‘Document the day’. This project encouraged me to draw from life, specifically the human figure and landscapes and I received positive feedback from staff. I have been drawing on different locations with my friend and I have found it very beneficial to me, it was a great way to practice my drawing skills.

20 years after reading my first book about Martynka I still love illustrated books but now almost all the books in my house are about drawing and painting. In the world where you can find a lot of ebooks online, I still like having traditional books and learning from them.
I also enjoy character design and for that reason I have spent a lot of time studying the work of commercial illustrators, which has inspired me to learn more about drawing and painting using a digital medium. This has helped me strengthen my knowledge and use of Adobe Photoshop.
My first few weeks of the Foundation Diploma, and my first project, lead me to a decision that digital painting is something I want to focus more in future.
